Crystal Capone

Hey I’m Crystal! I’m an Illustrator, Cartoonist, Digital Artist, Fine Artist and Art Teacher.

About Me

I’m based on Long Island, New York. Since 2020, I’ve been teaching art classes to children from pre-k to high school, in cartooning, claymation, drawing, mixed media, fine arts, acrylic painting, art therapy and more. My teaching style emphasizes imagination, process, and choice—helping young artists build skills but also follow their interests and curiosities.

I graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Digital Art and Design from Long Island University in 2022, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Art Education at Adelphi University. I’m passionate about fostering creativity in children and am especially inspired by the Waldorf approach to education, which honors the connection between art, nature, and the development of the whole child.

Whether I’m teaching, illustrating, or storyboarding, my goal is always the same: to uplift, connect, and inspire through the power of art.

Artist Statement

I’ve been teaching art to children for over ten years, and it brings me so much joy to know I’ve inspired young artists—whether it’s hearing that a drawing I made is still hanging on the refrigerator or seeing a student light up with pride over their own creation. I believe art is a powerful tool for communication, expression, and connection, and I strive to reach others through both my teaching and personal work.

Alongside my goals of working as a storyboard artist and illustrating books, I’m deeply committed to nurturing creativity in children. I’m especially drawn to the Waldorf philosophy, which honors imagination, nature, and the whole child. I hope to continue sharing the magic of art in environments where creativity is celebrated as a vital part of learning and life
